  The Portsmouth Christian Science Reading Room is for people of all faiths and backgrounds to explore spirituality and prayer. It exists to foster a deeper apppreciation of the Bible, the teachings of Christ Jesus, and provides information about Christian Science and Christian Science healing.
  
  Part of the space includes a quiet reading room with biblical research tools and reference materials. It also sells Bibles, Christian Science books and magazines, including Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by the discoverer and founder of Christian Science, Mary Baker Eddy. In addition, it stocks magazines published by the Christian Science Publishing Society including The Christian Science Monitor. Other items for sale include Christian music CDs, Christian children's books, and posters. Many of these items can also be borrowed from the Reading Room's lending library.
